Semperit AG Holdings: Completes Acquisition of RICO Group  Link...

Semperit has completed the acquisition of RICO Group, a global market leader in the field of mould production and the production of precise liquid silicone components.

RICO’s growth strategy, which includes expanding production at the Austrian site in Thalheim near Wels as well as expansions in the USA and Switzerland, will remain unchanged. According to international studies, the market for silicone products in Western Europe and the USA will grow significantly by around 7% annually until 2027. The market volume currently (2023) amounts to around 8 billion US dollars.

Semperit AG Holdings: Ground-Breaking for Hose Production Expansion in Odry, Czech Republic  Link...

Ground-breaking has taken place at Semperit's hose production plant in Odry, Czech Republic for additional hydraulic hose production.

Upon completion of the new hall in 2028, total capacities of almost 200 million meters p.a. will be achieved, 32 million meters of which will come from the plant expansion in the future. Production at the new plant is scheduled to start at the beginning of 2025 and will then comprise half of the additional capacity. This will be followed step by step by further plant expansion until 2028. The total investment volume is around EUR 110 million, with the majority of the costs to be incurred between 2023 and 2027. The new production hall on the site of the existing plant in Odry will cover around 17,000 sqm.

Semperit AG Holdings: Selling Medical Glove Segment  Link...

Semperit AG Holding has reached an agreement with the Southeast Asian glove producer HARPS GLOBAL PTE. LTD., based in Singapore with production facilities in Malaysia, on the sale of its medical business (Sempermed; surgical and examination gloves). The execution of the transaction is subject to the approval of the competent authorities; it is expected for the second quarter of 2023. Initially, the production of surgical gloves in Wimpassing, Austria, and their packaging in Sopron, Hungary, will be excluded from the transaction and will continue as contract manufacturing for the buyer for several years.

Semperit AG Holdings: Investing in World's First Carbon-Neutral Hose Production Facility  Link...

Semperit is planning to boost production at its hose factory in Odry, Czech Republic by investing EUR 110 million over the next few years. The Odry site is one of the world’s largest production facilities for industrial and hydraulic hoses, with a focus on sustainability and automation. Operations are set to start up in the new production hall in 2025, where an extra 32 million metres of hydraulic hose will be added to the current production capacity increasing capacity to almost 200 million metres pa.

Hose production will be powered exclusively by renewable energy at what will be the world’s first carbon-neutral hose production facilities. Even though capacity will be increased, the overall water consumption in Odry will drop by around 30% once the new hall is finished.

Semperit AG Holdings: New Manufacturing Plant & North American HQ in Newnan, Georgia  Link...

The Semperit Group is opening a new US manufacturing plant for rubber gaskets this autumn and is relocating it current North American HQ and distribution centre to Newnan, Georgia. The move is in support of expected growth in the North American infrastructure and construction sectors.

The plant and HQ, scheduled to open November 1, 2021, will include administrative space, production lines for building façade seals, window gaskets, road and bridge expansion joints among other sealing components, as well as increased warehousing and distribution capabilities for the entire sealant and conveyor belting portfolio.

Semperit AG Holdings: Acquiring M&R Dichtungstechnik GmbH  Link...

Semperit is acquiring M&R Dichtungstechnik GmbH, based in Seligenstadt/Germany with closing planned for January 2021. M&R Dichtungstechnik manufactures profiles for facade construction. Semperit is acquiring a 51% share in the previously owner-managed business. The previous owner will remain onboard as MD with the business being under Semperit's Semperseal segment.

Semperit AG Holdings: Semperit Focusing on Industrial Rubber Sector Looking to Divest Medical Business  Link...

The Semperiti Group is to focus on the Industrial Sector, transforming into an industrial rubber specialist. The Executive and supervisory Boards have therefore decided to separate from the medical business.

The company is moving forwards with SemperGrowth200, following the succesful restructuring of the industrial business which is now organised into four segments (Semperflex, Semperform, Semperseal and Sempertrans). The initial focus in expansion and sales growth in North America.

Semperit AG Holdings: New Strategic Orientation of Industrial Sector  Link...

With the arriveal of Kristian Brok as the new COO as of January 2020, Semperit is implenting steps of its new industrial rubber strategy with focus on regional and application-related customer intimacy.

Recent restructuring in the past 2 years has delivered improved profitability for the industrial sector which moving forwards will now be organised into four segments instead of three. The business units Profiles and Rubber Sheeting will be separated from the Semperform segment and operated as a segment of their own under the name SemperSeal from 1 January 2020. By contrast, Semperform will focus on handrails, sheave and bull wheel liners for ropeways, ski foils and Engineered Solutions (SES) in future.

Expansion of production is planned in North America to reduce dependence on the European economic area, this will be accompanied by increased customer support in the region.

a new organizational unit, the Customer Excellence Center (CEC), is also being set up in order to focus more strongly on undeveloped industries, the digitization of the product portfolio and the analysis of further possible applications for Semperit's product range in future.

Semperit AG Holdings: Expands Mixing Activities in Poland  Link...

Semperit has completed expansion of its mixing plant in Bełchatów, Poland. This is now the largest mixing site in the Semperit group with five mixing lines and a 75 kMTpa capacity. Approximately EUR 17 million was invested in the construction of the fifth mixing line in the past three years. With the new mixing line, 30,000 tonnes of rubber compounds can be produced per year, while the mixing capacity at the site is increased by a total of 67 percent.

Semperit AG Holdings: Sells Italian Hose Plant to Matec Group  Link...

Semperit, as part of a strategic focus initiative, has sold its Italian Semperflex production site Roiter in Rovigo, Italy to the Italian Matec Group. In the future, Semperflex will focus on the European mega factory in Odry/Czech Republic and the two large Asian plants in addition to its headquarters in Wimpassing/Lower Austria.

Semperit AG Holdings: Acquires German Profile Producer Leeser   Link...

Vienna, Düsseldorf 23 March, 2015 – Semperit AG Holding (“Semperit“) has acquired Leeser GmbH & Co. KG (“Leeser“), a German manufacturer of high quality rubber seals. In this way Semperit is strengthening the Segment Semperform as a complete provider on the profiles market, and has thus taken a further step in its expansion on the growth market for building profiles. The purchase agreement was signed on 19th of March, 2015. The acquisition is subject to approval by anti-trust authorities. The closing of the transaction is expected in the second quarter of 2015. The two parties agreed to maintain confidentiality about the acquisition price. Leeser operates two production plants located near Düsseldorf, Germany. In 2014 Leeser generated revenue of approx. EUR 37 million in Europe, employing a workforce of about 200 people. The sales focus of the company established in 1968 is mainly on the markets in Western Europe and the region of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Semperit AG Holdings: Modernisation of Semperform Production in Wimpassing  Link...

Vienna, November 11, 2014 – The Semperit Group will rely on the Ultra High Frequency Technology (UHF) in the Segment Semperform. About EUR 7 million will be invested to modernise production operations at the Wimpassing plant in Lower Austria. This represents a continuation of the Semperit Group’s expansion and modernisation drive at its plant in Wimpassing. A total of approximately EUR 40 million will be invested in the period 2012 to 2015. The use of the UHF Technology serves as the basis for Semperit to substantially increase production and targets new customer groups. The first of the three new UHF facilities is currently in the start-up phase and will be converted to regular operations over the next few months. When fully installed, the three facilities will process more than 6,000 tonnes of raw rubber mix annually into rubber profiles.

Vienna, January 15, 2014 – The Semperit Group is expanding its hose production in the Semperflex segment. More than EUR 10 million will be invested to raise capacity at the Semperflex Optimit plant in Odry, Czech Republic. Semperflex Optimit is already Europe’s largest manufacturer of hydraulic and industrial hoses. The investment programme which is now underway is designed to increase production capacity by about 30% by the second quarter of 2015. “In 2013 we achieved a significant rise in hose sales and gained a greater market share although the global economy was weak. For this reason, we are currently operating at full capacity”, says Thomas Fahnemann, Chief Executive Officer of Semperit AG Holding. “We see additional growth potential in the future based on our high-quality products and enhanced customer service. We can meet the strong demand for Semperflex hoses, intensify our partnerships with key customers and therefore secure future growth by expanding our production capacities in Odry.”
